Disclaimers

Lipistart and MCTprocal are foods for special medical purposes and should only be used under medical supervision.

The prescribed amount of MCT should be calculated on an individual patient basis and will depend on age, weight and medical condition.

To reduce the risk of gastro-intestinal intolerance, MCT should be gradually introduced into a patient's diet.

MCTprocal is not a follow-on formula. It is an MCT supplement which is suitable from 3 years of age onwards.

This calculator is designed to show how to incorporate MCT into a patient's diet using Lipistart and/or MCTprocal. If using other MCT-containing products, their contribution to the MCT intake of the patient must be taken into consideration.

The overall nutritional adequacy of a patient's diet is not monitored by this calculator. This remains the responsibility of the prescribing clinician and should be regularly monitored.

The calculator uses an energy value of 9kcal/g for MCT.
