Adelheid introduces the childhood age related condition called febrile infection related epilepsy syndrome (FIRES) that occurs due to fever or illness leading to an acute phase of severe status epilepticus followed by a chronic phase of drug-resistant epilepsy. She discusses the evidence on how FIRES has been treated with a ketogenic diet including some clinical case reports.
